About Us

McGregor Historical Museum
The McGregor Historical Museum is committed to the appreciation and preservation of McGregor’s rich history, capturing frontier life as it was lived in northeast Iowa. The museum collection started in 1936 as part of the McGregor Public Library. Through the interest of local historian, Mrs. Lena Myers, the collection grew and occupied an entire building in 1963. The museum moved to its present location in 1982, a building donated to the town as a memorial to Mrs. Lena Myers by her son, Richard, and his wife, Isabel.
